WATCH I WASN'T MEANT TO FEEL

I Wasn't Meant to Feel is a short film about abandonment, memory, and the quiet persistence of what no longer serves a purpose.
Set in a liminal space where dust and silence have replaced human presence, the film follows a system left behind, still running, still thinking, long after it was considered obsolete.
It's a reflection on how we discard what we no longer need, not only in machines but in people, places, and moments. A parallel with life itself: what remains of us when we are no longer useful?
Through static images and decaying circuitry, the film explores the loneliness of forgotten things.
A visual requiem for relevance. A meditation on meaning after utility.

This project came to life through the fusion of various generative AI tools, allowing us to bring the concept to reality with remarkable speed and significant cost reduction, all while staying true to the original creative vision.
The concept and script were entirely crafted without AI, purely the result of human imagination.
However, when it came to execution, AI became a vital ally. It was used extensively to transform initial sketches and 3D renders into fully realized, detail-rich visuals.

Video generation was still a time-consuming process.
Despite the support of AI, producing a short film with these tools remained a highly experimental and innovative endeavor. Every single shot required further post-production work to ensure a cohesive visual style and a sharp, well-paced narrative.

Even the sound carries the imprint of AI.
The voiceover was entirely generated using AI, carefully directed to match a specific tone and diction. But it didn’t stop there: the generated voice was then manually refined and edited, enhancing pacing, clarity, and emotional nuance.
The rest of the sound design is fully handcrafted. The unique work of Slortep, who shaped every sound, beat, and texture with precision and creativity.
